The pros
Home school is ideal for those kids who have disabilities or are down with diseases like autism. It becomes problematic for them to attend normal school like other kids to pursue their education and hence they are forced to study from their home itself.
Not only is the child comfortable with the common surroundings, their parents too can keep an eye out for them. There are wide ranges of descriptive education material available nowadays that one needs not venture to a school for their primary education and their home school provides ample study material.
The cons
Though the concept of home school has been there for ages… in the good old days, children of noble families used to study in their home itself… it is slowly petering out. One cannot expect to study beyond a certain level this way.
Apart from this one cannot socialize at home school. This is a very important drawback. Teaching children at home might enlighten then in the 3 R’s but as the child grows, they will feel lonely and will feel envious on seeing groups of children walking back home from school.
As time passes by, the kids who have become accustomed to home school will find it a problem to mix up with other children and generally become isolated from the main stream. This poses problems to them when they are compelled to join high school for advanced studies.

It can be said that home school has both its positive and negative points. There are certain situations where there are no avenues left open for the parents apart from teaching their kids at home school. Higher education proves to be a problem. If the child can go to a normal school, that is the best option.
